Magic Mouse, iMac and MacBook Pro

BIG dilemma for me....

So I bought the new iMac. Mainly for the idea to use the monitor as a external monitor. This is what I need....

I basically want the magic mouse to automatically connect to the macbook pro when I plug the MacBook into the iMac as an external display. Obviously then I need it to disconnect from the iMac (because apparently you can only pair with one thing w/ bluetooth).

I realize you can go thru the tedious steps of disconnecting from the iMac and then reconnecting to the MacBook every time, but its a pain, and honestly I can't figure out how to reconnect to the iMac if the mouse is disconnected (ie I can't move the mouse to the bluetooth icon on the iMac if it's disconnected, I hope that makes sense).

Please help....I expect MANY people to run into this issue....

This may be of help to what you would like to do. You could use a shortcut to turn on and off bluetooth for both systems. The mouse should pair with both as I know my Mighty Mouse will.

The magic mouse/keyboard only connects to one computer at a time. (assuming that this is true).......

Say both things are connected to the MacBook Pro. There is no way "toggle" the iMac to tell the Bluetooth to look for the peripherials because there are no input devices connect to the iMac...

I have been able to connect my mighty mouse (I am assuming the magic will do the same) to two computer at the same time. This happened by accident when my son wanted to use the mouse. It controlled the pointer on both systems at the same time until I turned of the bluetooth on mine or unpaired it. So you should be able to pair to both.

The problem would be the keyboard options. If you turn off the bluetooth and are using a wireless keyboard you will not be able to turn it back on without connecting up a wired one.
