I suppose time will truly tell, but I've been lag free for the past 7 days. I figured the mac pro case wasn't entirely at fault b/c I have a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse that pairs wonderfully with it.....So anyway My Mac Pro is wired to an Airport Express, which is an access point for my Airport Extreme. I changed the 5Ghz channel manually to 161 (I already had 2.4Ghz on manual). The Magic Mouse has been solid ever since. Must have been wireless interference.

.....wow seriously? No kidding. I was referring to a known issue between the magic mouse and Mac pro involving excessive lag....
Can you open:
Bluetooth Explorer
Devices Menu --> Connection Quality Monitor
Then click start.
What range of values do the RSSI graph show?
With my Magic Mouse and my internal Mac Pro Bluetooth it jumps around between -15 and -10, -5 being the cutoff before things get laggy.
Using a external 100m bluetooth adapter it ranges from 0 to -5 which is still ridiculously **** seeing as it's barely 1ft away from it but alas, it works.
No, the bluetooth antenna is in a retarded position and doesn't work properly with the Magic Mouse, you need to get a external Bluetooth adapter, ideally a 100m range one...
I don't have Bluetooth Explorer. I think you need to install the developer tools for that. Anyway still going strong.
Where is your Mac Pro in relation to your mouse?
Mine is 2ft left from the front of my Mac Pro and it doesn't work properly from there!
Edit: The 5Ghz spectrum is nowhere near the Bluetooth operating frequency! Which is low 2Ghz.
Either way I can only select channes 38, 40, 44 and 48 on my 5GHz Airport Extreme
I have this problem too. My Mac Pro is at my left side under the desk. While I use the Magic Mouse on my right hard, it stutters, even in bootcamp. But if I switch it to my left hand, it works (insert iPhone4 joke here) as its closer to my Mac Pro.
This issue started after I installed a GTX 285 card which required two power cables. Maybe causing interference? I am going to swap the blutooth and wifi antennae and see if it works.

I realize the 5Ghz spectrum is nowhere near the 2.4 bluetooth frequencies. I know the fix isn't exactly "logical". What I do know is I tried it out of desperation and it worked. I had been fighting with lag for the last 6 months. I have the 2.66 quad nehelam model. The tower is on the desk on the left side and the mouse is on the right. I couldn't put the pro under my desk because the cable to my cinema display is so short.
I just swapped the bluetooth antenna marked BT with an unused one labelled as "1" and the mouse works now.

You can't.
The 2009 and 2010 MPs have the bluetooth card at the back with the WiFi card at the front. 2008 and earlier MPs have both side by side and thus the wires side by side.
Your options are buying a 100m Bluetooth adapter (the one on the Apple store doesn't fix the issue either) or run an external antenna like VirtualRain.

Give ebay a scour, im sure you will find something cheap that works.

I don't get how you get away with it to be honest.
It might be EM interference where my MP is but the MBP works fine *shrug*
The problem I have with Apple's wireless mouse is that items on screen move, and windows scroll, when there aren't supposed to. Typically, this happens a second or so after I've done something with the mouse. Is this the "lag" that others are referring to? The mouse is very responsive (no delay) and precise when I operate it, but the "extra" movements are maddening.

Since I got the Mac Pro and started using it's Magic Mouse I have noticed that some windows seem to be scrolled a few lines when I don't expect it.
What I thought was happening was scrolling movements being sent to windows that are not the foreground window as my finger moves on the mouse, as the mouse sweeps over the window. If you see what I mean.

The usual lag problem has the cursor follow the movement of the mouse not instantly but with a very short delay - like drawn by a rubber band.
I think all known measures are mentioned in this thread. Before anything else try the simple approach: remove the battery cover of the magic mouse. Unmagic as it is - it solved my lag problems very well (so far, knock on wood)...

It is NOT the one on the Apple Store. It is free as part of the hardware developer kit. Search for the one from July 2012. Later ones crash.
I enabled all 6 packet types, and the stutter stopped. NONE of the other suggestions have worked.
