[Magic Mouse] Magic mouse scratched surface fix?

I have a magic mouse I bought a long time ago, back when they where new, and I just found it and cleaned it off and plan to use it, but the surface is scratches. Is there any fix for this? Could I just polish it, or would that damage the mutlitouch surface? Seeing as how they're $70, I really would like to continue using this one as it has no other damage besides minor cosmetic damage on the back(the side where you put the batteries in at) and the scratched surface.

The top of the mouse is scratched from where you right and left click to the apple logo and even a little bit below that. Only some minor scratches and only visible when held to the light but you can sorta feel them.
Also for future reference, how do you clean the top(the part you put your fingers on)?

you can probably just use a damp towel to wipe it off, I'm not sure how sensitive the surface is so i wouldn't use any cleaner on it, maybe a little windex or something.

After cleaning it with a rag/towel and some general purpose cleaner of your choosing, you could try to buff it out by hand... with just the cleaner and some firm pressure.

I wouldn't go too crazy and try to use a Dremel or anything. Unless you've used one for other similar tasks and are comfortable with one.

Heck, I'm not even sure what the surface is. Is it plastic?

Probably shouldn't use a Dremel unless you go very very easy and light. It wouldn't be too difficult to melt/burn through in my opinion.

Edit- if the scratch is deep enough to feel with your finger, then you're probably mostly out of luck. It's really hard to get those kinds of scratches out because you kind of need to fill in the scratch with some material, if you follow what I'm saying.

The scratches aren't very deep at all, I think I will probably clean it and see if they come off, and they probably will. I'm talking about the kind of scratches that are hardly visably noticeable until held to light.

I just used toothpaste with a cotton pad and it works perfectly. Before it was difficult to swipe your finger as it was not smooth, just polished less than one minute and now feels almost like new. Sorry for refloating but thought it was worth to mention.
