Title says it all. Has anyone with a Mac Pro (2019) been able to purchase the Silver/Black Magic Trackpad 2 after your original purchase? I know folks were able to do this with the iMac Pro and the Space Gray trackpad before it was generally available. Thanks!

I did it with the iMac pro. You just needed a part number and you'd call, ask, and they'd set up a repair for the part number and you'd pay the full retail. It was easy. I could maybe lookup the part number for the old black iMac pro one (which looks better imo). Don't know about silver.

I like the fact that the trackpad surface itself is all black. Very little silver on it...

This is the reason why I bought all three at the start. I don't know when they will be offering it after the purchase.

You can order the all Space Gray trackpad from the Apple store.

Personally, I think it and the space gray keyboard look better than the silver-and-black Mac Pro ones.

I got the trackpad with my Mac Pro mainly because I would use it sometimes, compared to never for the Magic Mouse.
The Space Gray part in the Apple Store is what comes with the iMac Pro. It's not the silver and black one from the Mac Pro.

Is there a reason that Apple doesn’t make the silver and black tracked available for purchase separately? I don’t think Mac Pro users care about exclusivity, unless I’m wrong?

Would anyone be interested in helping me acquire one? I don't have a Mac Pro but I love the look of the Black/Silver Magic Trackpad 2. Thanks!

Last time with the iMac Pro they were selling for 2-3x on eBay before they were available. I imagine for the Mac Pro version they'll have a higher premium. Who knows.

In the meantime we need someone to locate the sku for a repair call....

FYI, the refurbs on Apple's website show the standard "Space Gray Magic Mouse 2" and "Space Gray Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" as in the box.

I purchased MP and trying to purchase the matching silver/black trackpad 2 NOT the grey or silver version. Has anyone purchased the MP version? If one spends $10k on a computer Apple is not allowing you to purchase the matching trackpad!!! Apple can verify serial numbers and I'm the original purchaser!!

Just got off the phone with Apple and even though I purchased this expensive MP product they will not sell me the trackpad that is offered with the MP. This is just crazy!!!! I'm not the 2nd owner I'm the original owner that just purchased and for the dollar amount for this product is just unacceptable!!!

I don't understand why they have this policy, and think it's kinda dumb, but they state it very clearly on the Mac Pro order page.

They may open it up at some point (like they did with the Space Grey peripherals that came exclusively with the iMac Pro), but until then you should've just ordered it with the computer.

I seen it posted on the site.......

If I was just looking for this color scheme for my MacBookPro or mini I could understand but I purchased this ***** MP for ***** $9k and they can trace the serial number back to me!!! Apple is going to penalize me because I didn't purchase this trackpad when dumping $9k on this over priced computer!! Good going Mr Crook!!!

What if I did purchase a pad with the MP and the pad got damaged or stop working? Does it get replaced with silver/black or a space gray?

I had the same experience. My Magic Mouse 2 seemed flaky, so they replaced it - with the all-dark color instead of the two-tone that came with the 7,1. The replacement is just as flaky as the original, sadly.

Well the magic mouse is the worst thing Apple created in a long time. I could never get used to it and I really tried my best.

Check the Satechi Aluminum M1

I don't like the mouse, but switch to it when I do video editing because the side scrolling works great in this case.
