Will the Magic Jack for iPhone let me make and receive calls in my home where the AT&T service is spotty and unreliable?

I used to have mine working with siphone but then MJ pushed out an update that disabled using it without the USB plug.
It was great cause it worked thru wifi and 3G.

According to this article from PC World, it should work with the iPhone. I hope this device isn't PC only, and will work with a Mac.

Probably.
Unlimited calls thru wifi or even 3G on jb iPhones with a magicjack number sounds great.
That's IF AT&T doesn't block it...

I wish AT&T would just create a VoIP app for the iPhone which would let us migrate to WiFi seamlessly. T-Mobile sells phones that are hardware capable of VoIP over WiFi, and they offer the service for a nominal monthly fee. Surely something similar could be implemented through software on the iPhone? I'd pay to have a voice connection at work.

It would be great to use something similar when on wifi without using the regural mobile minutes.

I saw this article this morning.

This is the part that concerns me:

AT&T, T-Mobile and the Federal Communications Commission had no immediate comment on whether they believe the device is legal, but said they were looking into the issue.

We'll have to wait and see if it ever reaches the light of day.
