Has anyone tried using the current version of SteerMouse with the new MagicMouse? The only issue I have with the new MagicMouse is the tracking speed (acceleration or sensitivity actually). Can the current version of SteerMouse be used?

Thanks,

Rich

I posted this in another thread but it's worth posting here. I too was curious since I bought a license 9 days before they released the Magic Mouse. I'll still use the app on another machine but I'd like it to work with the Magic Mouse.

Doesn't work just yet , but will be in the (near?) future

This is from their site :

We are going to get the Apple Magic Mouse and look into supporting it. We want to draw a conclusion in November.

i am waiting for steer mouse to work with the magic mouse to ......

Thing is that non of these 3rd party add-on's should even be necessary. Seems like pretty basic stuff to be included in the OS at this point doesn't it?

Open terminal and type:
defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling 5.0

Default value is 3, 5 is a good one.

For me the best setting is actually:

defaults.write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling -1

This seems to remove the horrible sluggishness for small movements. It makes it a little bit too fast on my 30", but it's so much better than any of the alternatives ... at least until SteerMouse works.
