iPod Magnetic Snaps for a homemade ipod case

I just made a felt case for my ipod last night and I'm wondering if it would be alright to use magnetic snaps to keep the flap closed. I know magnets = bad for most electronics but some of the name brand cases i've seen do have snaps.
