Hi all.

I bought a new MBP 14” M4Pro last January and I just noticed I have this sticker around the MagSafe plug.

I’ve watched several unboxings and pictures but I’ve noticed not one of them has this on it.

Any ideas why it comes with it? Should I remove it or is it ok to leave it there?

Thanks.

I have no idea why that is there, or why it would be needed in the first place. Where did you purchase the MBP? If not an authorized reseller, that sticker may have been placed there to cover something up.

When the case has been replaced, you'll sometimes see stickers like that on the ports (to protect them). Maybe the sticker wasn't removed completely at the factory?

I am the original buyer , it was from a reseller, but it was brand new (I broke the seals) . I thought it was there to avoid scratching … but I just noticed after two months of use. It doesn’t bother me , it’s just out of curiosity as it’s the first time I’ve seen it. Maybe someone forgot to remove it during the factory boxing or something?

FWIW, the only time I've ever seen something similar was in the post linked below (after an AppleCare repair).
You can enter your serial number here https://checkcoverage.apple.com to check if your MacBook has been activated prior to your purchase.
And you could give Apple a call (if it is perhaps a refurbished device).
