Couple questions..

First off, when the AC adapter is plugged in it makes a whirring noise - is this normal - just seems kinda odd.

Secondly, does it automatically convert voltage (like camera battery chargers). It seems to me the fine folks at apple told me this was the case, but not a bad plan to double check.

What makes a whirring noise? The laptop or the power brick?

I think it does, as the travel pack just has different plugs you stick into it. It would make no sense for it not to. :)
