my macbook's power adapter was doing this last night. as well, the battery meter was going from 100% to 99% back and forth. eventually it stopped and just stuck on green. now i have unplugged it and it's at 81% charge but when i plug the magsafe in, the light stays green. what's the deal?

already reset my PMU. afraid to calibrate because the charger does not appear to actually be charging the battery.

anyone had this happen?

yup I had that happen to me a few months back about 2 weeks before my battery suddenly went completely dead. Out of the blue it was no longer recognizable. I would probably have apple or a service center take a look at your battery as it might need replacing :(

Out of curiosity... how old was the laptop? did they give you any trouble because it was the battery?

this machine is a replacement that i've had since the end of august. they gave me no problem at all. they were very nice and apologetic and resolved the issue quickly. they actually thought they were out of batteries but there was ONE left in the back!

This problem has just started affecting my MacBook (bought mine when they first came out). It was alternating between 99% and 100% and amber and green, and not staying on green as it used to.

Does anyone know whether a Mac bought from Apple's online store can be taken to an AppleStore shop for repair such as battery replacement? Do I need to wait until the battery completely dies? At the moment the battery is otherwise functioning as normal - ie. lasts a reasonable time, and charges normally until it reaches nearly fully charged.
