iPhone 12 Pro Max MagSafe Animation with Wallet gone

Anyone else no longer get the animation when attaching the wallet?
I have a 12 Pro Max and the Apple Clear MagSafe case. I got the animation a couple of times originally but no longer get it.
when I remove it, I get the sound and haptic feedback.
Not a huge deal but kind of disappointing. Makes me wonder if something is wrong?

Seems to be a bug. Reboot helps temporarily.

Did you ever find a fix? I've done all the hints and tips (reboot, change wallpaper) but to no avail.
