Anyone know how to check if the update was applied?

Apple recently issued a firmware update for the two-meter USB-C to MagSafe 3 charging cable, but it's unknown what it updates or fixes.

I see a firmware for the power adapter (Firmware Version: 1040068), but not for the cable itself (firmware ver. 3.1.12).

This article would be useful if it said what versions of the old and new firmware and how you can see what firmware you have. Just saying a new firmware exists with no additional information is not very useful.
