This week my Air Magsafe connector broke in half.

Extremely annoying as it drops out of the charger all the time.
The top part actually sticks to the MacBook with the magnet, but the bottom thing just falls out.

Apple in Germany is sending me a replacement, but they had never heard of the issue so I had to send them pics.

Anyone else had this happen to them?

Pics attached.

Sell your MB because a MB Air's Magsafe is having a problem. Boy, that sure make a lot of sense.

hello?
has anyone heard of Cyanoacrylate?
AKA CRAZY GLUE....
use some glue and stick your mag safe back together. duh

I shouldn't really have to superglue a 5 month old 1.800 Dollar investment...

And are you interested in the fact that my Dell power cable broke? - No

Come on!!! My previous Dell charger almost catches on fire twice... MBA’s charger is great. Please, be specifically of what problems are you referring to because in the way you put it it looks that that the MBA is plagued with problems and defects.

I don't think that would be the best idea seeing as the connector gets very hot

A thin film of epoxi resin would better I think. Some of them can stand temperatures above 300ºC. Just do the job carefully or your magsafe will look awfully ugly.

Stated from your older post, you said there are many MBA haters, yet by your comments in this thread, you're hating on the MBA also for having a few problems.

Now, I have no problems with my MBA and I don't have coolbook enabled. It is installed, yes, but I have yet to enable it since upgrading to 10.5.4 after my last restore. I normally use the system dual screen on a HDTV or my dell's 20" widescreen monitor. I do watch youtube videos reguarly and I have VMWare Fusion 2, Beta 2 running windows XP as long as the system's on. If I can't get any core shutdowns from there, I'm pretty sure this is problem free.

MBA hater... I'm typing on one right now, but at the same time I wont sit here and say that the things tons of guys on this forum are experiencing is not real or present in a lot of macbooks out on the market. I dont have any trouble with mine at the moment either so im very fortunate but, I feel very bad for those other guys

WOW.....
this went from broken magsafe connectors to how the MBA sucks.
Stop complaining about the magsafe, glue it or take it back and get a replacement.
when someone spends $1800 on a laptop it means that they really wanted it, and their not going to return it...
The MBA has its problems, but what laptop doesn't thats as small as this one.

I love my MBA and whoever spent that much money on one, they probably love it too, I found out all the problems with it after I bought it, but i still got mine....

The macbook pro is next on my list of things to get.
;)
