Mail: 100% CPU when full screen

2012 MacBook Air, i5, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD
Mountain Lion 10.8.4

Whenever I go full screen in Mail.app, CPU usage is shooting right up to 100%. Exiting full screen seems to alleviate the issue.

Actually, it's happening even when not in full screen. And after a reboot, too.
 
Reinstalled Mountain Lion... fixed for now. Will update if the problem comes back.
