I hope I can explain this in a way that can be understood.

I create mailbox/folders for each of my clients. I drag emails from sent and inboxes into that client's folder. Say I send an email to Joe. The note is something like "Let's plan to meet about this." Joe writes me back. His email is in my "inbox". I drag it to his folder. But, instead of seeing his response, I see "Let's plan to meet about this." at the top of the body of the email. If I write him back, and I look at my sent mail, I still see "Let's plan to meet about this" at the top of the body of the email. In Joe's folder, I now see 3-4 emails that are from him, from me, from him, etc. But when I select each one, that same "Let's plan to meet about this." is what shows at the top of EACH of these email responses to each other. (and Joe's name shows in the "from" column over the email, even if what is in the email window is the email from me, and vice versa.)

ONLY if I double click on each of these, which opens a new window, then I see his response to my first note, my response to his note, etc.

Previously, before upgrading from Sierra to High Sierra, Joe's content/ responses would show up at the top of his email WITHOUT having to double click on each email, etc. I only tried double clicking after three sessions with Apple support where no one seemed to understand. Finally, they asked an "engineer" who said "This is how it's supposed to be" (the new response NOT showing up unless you double click and open a new window.)

This seems very inconvenient.

I'd love to know if this is others' experience.... if this IS "normal".
