When I receive a new email, I do not receive an instant notification on my iPhone. Rather, I have to open mail and refresh before I'm notified of the new email.

I checked the iPhone settings and "push" notification is on for both of my email accounts. I read that I need to setup Exchange, but can I do this for multiple email accounts? I need Exchange enabled on my personal account so I can receive instant notifications, plus I need it enable on my work accounts so I can sync with my work calendar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first iPhone, so I'm a bit lost.

Yes, you can have multiple Exchange accounts (I have three).

Who is your email provider? Gmail? Yahoo!? Other?

Thanks for the help, guys!

My personal account is with Gmail, while my work account is with a major university. I have most of the technical details (e.g., servers, port numbers, etc.), so I'm sure I can figure it out with some general advice.

Thanks, I managed to figure it out for my gmail account.

Sadly, things are a bit more complicated with my work account. I technically have two accounts at work; the first is a general account that utilizes Exchange, the second is a campus-specific account that does not utilize Exchange.

I'm required to use the second account as my primary account, so all email is being forwarded to this second account. Since this account is not compatible with Exchange, is it even possible to have my emails "pushed" to the iPhone? Since it's an IMAP account, is there any way I can specify the interval times for retrieving mail?

I have a separate exchange account enabled for the first work email, so I can sync my calendar accordingly. Any help would be greatly appreciated (our IT guy wasn't sure himself).

Thanks!
