For the last 2-3 days, my mail.app program has had that tiny caution icon informing me that my mail cannot be synced. I can log into me.com just fine, and my other two email accounts, both gmail accounts, work just fine.

In an attempt to figure out what's going wrong, I have disabled Little Snitch, even completely uninstalled it. I have also set my firewall to allow all incoming connections. Other than those two exceptions, I have no other applications on my mac that would interfere with network connections.

Has anyone experienced this before? I have restarted; done everything that I can think off. In addition to this issue, my Adium IM is messing up as well: can connect and use any service except MSN. This only started this morning, a day or so after my mail.app began to get screwy.

Currently verifying and repairing permissions.

EDIT: well d*mn, now Adium won't connect to AIM either. Haven't reinstalled Adium yet, but I have a sneaking suspicion this has to do with something other than just Adium, since mail.app is screwing up as well.

Sounds like your internet connection.

I haven't had any problems sending or receiving mail with MobileMe for a few weeks up until this morning. For about 30 minutes, one of my outgoing emails kept giving me a server timeout. It finally went through about 5 minutes ago.

Other than that, everything is hunky dory!

I am pretty sure that it's not my internet; I have a government connection. I think I'm just going to have to scan around more. Perhaps reinstall main.app.

i am having the same issue with the mail application and the MobileMe account. I deleted the account and tried to make a new one, but each time it says that the server at "mail.me.com" is not responding.

you mention that you are on a gov. connection.. have you ensured that the DNS/TCP:IP server settings are all correct. and that your mail isnt going through a proxy.. It sounds stupid, but its something that sometimes gets missed :)
