I'm using an iPhone 6 with iOS 9.0.2. Whenever I receive new mail, I get the notification on my lock screen. When I swipe left on the notification, two boxes appear: an empty blue box (that does nothing when clicked) and a red Trash button (which deletes the mail). Any idea why the blank blue box appears? I wanted to set it to either mark as read or flag, but no matter what I set in my swipe settings, the box remains blank. My current swipe settings are Swipe Left = Mark as Read, Swipe Right = Move Message. Based on that, I would expect the Mark Read option to show up on the lock screen notification, just as it does in the mail app.

Appreciate any help!

No, I'm not using an apps related to the lock screen. Just the native mail app.
