Hi,

Today, Sunday 28/July, email being sent via iCloud web, MacOS and iOS email apps is not coming through to recipients.
In the MacOS and iOS, it's any account (iCloud, Outlook or Gmail - yes, I have 3 email accounts, my main one is iCloud-

They are moved to the Sent folder, but recipient doesn't receive them.

When sending it from outlook.com; email is sent and received without any issues.

Due to the "Unable to load remote content privately" message in iPhone (which started to appear recently), I changed the Privacy protection settings on Mail; turning off protect mail activity, but leaving on hiding IP address.

Does it have to do with these settings? Is there anything wrong with iCloud?
I'd really appreciate some help!

Contacted Apple Support (07:29 PM, CEST, Europe) and the put everything in a case file for the engineers. Fun fact: I have another iCloud Account that is not tied to my original iCloud account, which I use only for iPad. And mails sent from iPad also are not received.

Hi, I called several times and spoke to Senior Supervisors. Three people in my family have the same problem, and on the third call, they admitted that it is a widespread problem. I asked and they said it could be related to the Private Relay problem. I don't use private relay, but the supervisor thought it could have been the correction of the glitch.

At least some comfort that is not only me…

Have they resolved it? Is there any turnaround they told you?

They said no ETA, but at his level, he said he could see numerous identical complaints.
Ok, thank you!

The guy at Apple support, was clueless with me. He asked me to log in and log out of iCloud and didn't understand the issue; not a single review of Settings or email config.

My experience with Apple support is always terrible, they don't know anything more than I do; and I'm just a fanboy

I'm glad that you found a better specialist and, hopefully it'll get sorted soon.

Same problem here in Germany. Cannot send emails from iCloud Account, but can receive emails from other providers. Affects me and several family members. System Status page reports everything nominal.

Same here on our 2 iCloud email accounts. Posted in multiple Apple forums but no response

I just tested it. Emails from the iCloud account are delivered again. But not the ones that were sent during the downtime. If they were important, better send again.

Same here. Mails are being delivered again with iCloud. But not the ones that were sent yesterday. Only the new ones are delivered. Agree with Coltaine. Better send mails again.

Unbelievable how silent they are at Apple. Spoke to support and the usual “keep everything vague” - vibe was strong. As soon as you ask questions about them and their services it becomes a blur. It is business model.

Working for me too, from 08:00 UK time, Monday 29/July

This has really damaged my trust in iCloud as main email.
I just realised because I sent an email to my partner and she didn't receive it. And Apple Support is appaling.

True that. But once, my Main e-mail was Outlook. Until i found out that most “password reset” related mails never Reached my inbox. Spam filter @ Microsoft too strict. I did everything: mail with support, chat with them. Phoned for hours. Nothing. So my Main mail became : iCloud. 😀

Actually, I just found out, because my father-in-law was asking me, why his email ain‘t working.
While troubleshooting, I found out that mine wasn‘t working either, as those of several other family members.
I found nothing on the internet, until I went here.
Also no error message that the mail could not be delivered…

Why TF would email sent through third party SMTP with no iCloud relay ever touch iCloud or be affected by an iCloud outage? Wtaf, Apple?
Usually email systems today are set up with SPF and DKIM, which means you cannot sent through arbitrary SMTP servers.

I’m not sure if iCloud does that as well, but I would assume so.
