Mail.app problem with OS X 10.10.3

When I click the "see more from XXX" link at the bottom of a thread topic, Mail highlights the message, the screen goes dark, and the OS X login screen appears.

This seems to have started after the 10.10.3 update.

Is there a preferences file somewhere that has become corrupted?

Try Repairing Permissions in Disk Utility and reboot.

EDIT: Oops, I spoke too soon. It worked once correctly after the permission repair, but then showed the same symptoms after returning to Mail a little later.
