I put my MBP to sleep last night by closing the lid. Mail app was open at the time. I wake up this morning and have 3 emails on my iPhone (same email accounts on my MBP). I decide to read the emails on my MBP and check out the new notification center. To my surprise, the emails were not there. My preferences are set to check email every minute.

I decided to wait and see what happened. After about 15 to 20 minutes, the emails finally appear on the MBP.

Under Lion, these emails would have been available immediately upon opening the MBP up.

Anyone else having this issue, or know why it is taking so long for mail to wake up and start retrieving?

10.8 and its built-in SNORE button!

I am having a similar problem with my iMac. I installed Mt. Lion last night, and ever since...the wake up time for my iMac is ridiculous! Prior to 10.8 the password screen appeared immediately after I tapped the space bar and I was able to type in my PW and the computer came to life instantly. Now, it takes 10 seconds after tapping the spacebar for the PW screen to show up. Then I have to wait about 10 more seconds for the blinking cursor shows up so I can type in my PW. The computer continues to run a bit slow for about 30 more seconds and I usually get an error message saying that I am not connected to the Internet (I am hard-wired with a Cat6 cable...NOT WIFI) which goes away after about 20-30 more seconds. So all in all, 10.8 has added a little over a minute to my whole iMac wake up process. It doesn't sounds like a lot, but when you are used to INSTANT gratification...70 seconds SUCKS!

Any ideas?

Same thing here...

I have expriences the same issues in every part of the System.
Everytime I put the mac to Sleep, after the wake up everything is slow (in same cases the airposrt hardware was not even recognized).

Mail, system preferences, calendar ecc... almost every software takes over 30 seconds before to restart- In general the application launch is hyper slow after the sleep.

Safari do not work properly too. In many cases it doesn't recognize the click position and i have to restart it to make it to work.

Well.. the testing for mountain lion has been very long and considering that most of the new enteries are related to iCloud and mobile stuff, for who works professionally this mountain lion is becoming a painful suroprise. probably i'll downgrade with time machine... :(
