Does anyone know of an app that when you get an email it alerts you just like SMS? I tried searching with no luck

There's an App called PushMail, not quite sure if it's what you're looking for.

I think GPush does what you're looking for. Of course you have to be using Gmail.

Of course, the iPHone *should* do this for you without resort to a third-party app.

But I digress.
