mail can i leave the message on the server and download only the header(only message body )?

i use mail , can i edit it to leave the message to the server and download only the header (like thunderbird) ?

i have several accounts , and it's download a lot

i would like seeing i use the imap protocol , download only the header ( subject and body ) and don't download the attachements like photos , pdf and son on

i would like to download attachaments on my demand

can i do it?
