Mail Clean up?

Hey everyone,

So I was recently trying to clean up disk space and realize that my mail accounts add up to 8gb of data. Two gmails and one custom url.

I'm wondering if there is some tool that goes in and removes emails that are useless. Sort of like a disk scanner. But it groups emails. Like groups amazon newsletters and invoices separately.

I know that you can just search amazon newsletter and that probably does a good job but I don't have the time to go down and make sure a purchase confirmation or password change email isn't included in the hundreds of emails it will probably pick up.

There is no way for software to know what emails you consider to be useless.

What might work:

On the Gmail accounts, you can log in on their webpage and play with the filters. Options for From, Subject, message body, etc. See if patterns that will work, then set up label(s) and filter(s) to organize the emails. Then can select all for a label and delete.

Then on Mac, go back to Mail and do a Mailbox > Rebuild on the affected mailbox(es).

But as GGJStudios said, no magic bullet. Will take some effort.

yeah, also the mail app is kinda buggy.
