Mail crashing in Yosemite

I am not sure if there is an attachment or email that Mail was trying to open.

But I just get beachballs when I try to open it and it never opens.

I have to force quit it.

Any fixes? I need the mail app for medical school and I don't have time to reinstall or etc.

I'm also experiencing the same issue with Mail. I don't use my MacBook that often however so I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot.

I was able to fix mine by deleting the Envelope Index file under /Library/Mail/V2/MailData folder.
