Ok, so since upgrading I decided I was going to give Mail another go (it's not currently my main email client), but whenever I try to load the program I can't get past the welcome/update-your-mail screen. As soon as I click continue the app crashes closing itself.

Is anyone having this issue? What could be causing it?

This was not happening to me on Lion.

First DON'T use Mail to make new Mail accounts in Mountain Lion. To make new email accounts go into System Preferences->Mail, Contact & Calendars and set the email account their, then launch Mail.

My accounts are all there already, since I set them up for the notifications feature.

Still, Mail just crashes when trying to open it :(

Mail in mountain lion is unusable for me right now. It has lots of issues with exchange and rules, which I use heavily. I had to switch to outlook on my notebook and won't upgrade my workstation until this is resolved.

Because Apple has set up Mountain Lion to do that. When doing it this way I think they decided to do it this way so Sharing is all unified throughout the 10.8 system.
