Mail for Mac unresponsive in Sierra

Hi all, since I updated my Mac the Mail software keeps freezing when I wake up my computer after it's been idle for a while... Happens several times a day... Am I the only one with this issue? I have to force quit and then it works for a while...

I've been having this problem too, although mine searches for new mail for a few minutes and then it says my accounts go offline. Sometimes when it's searching for new mail I just give up and force quit and start over.
