Just a few days ago, I experienced the unpleasant arrival of a hord of junk email messages in my inbox. Mail had filtered nearly everything, but now it seems to be letting everything through. No preferences were changed, and Junk mail filtering is enabled in mail's preferences. If there someother place I should be looking to verify these settings, like in a plist or something? I almost forgot how much spamm I get on a regular basis.

Thanks,
Bubba

what email service do you use? Maybe they just changed their spam filtering policy on the server - for the worse. :(
joe.

Well, this is my spam account that is pretty much supposed to receive all the spam. I doubt the company filters anything. It is yifan.net and they are based somewhere in Asia I think. I think Mail is screwing this up, but maybe you are correct about them changing the servers around.

Bubba

Actually, I just confirmed it, both accounts a letting SPAM through, including messages that have "SPAM TAG"s from my ISP.

AHHH I do not need viagra, painkiller, a larger penis, or the Paris Hilton sex tape.

I've been getting the same thing lately. When in training mode, Mail will mark all the junk mail (well, as much as it ever gets... The damn "ads" with no To, no Subject, and only an image I don't load in the body... They always get by) but when I switch to automatic, any new mail that comes in is unfiltered and unmarked.

I even removed my whole Mail folder in my library to see if it was some lingering corruption in my account files, to no avail. Next is to remove my prefs file, though that means setting up all my email accounts again. :(

How widespread is this problem??

EDIT: Ah, more widespread than I thought. Here's the active thread ...
moving this there.
