Hi, whenever I attempt to open Mail, it causes my 2014 MBA to freeze. I have to hold down the power button - Force Quit doesn't even work to close the Mail program.

I can get my emails by going online, or i can get them on my phone/iPad. The problem seems to be the program on the computer.

I have run Dick Utility/First Aid - no issues. I have over 30gb free on mt 256gb SSD, RAM Pressure is green but quickly spike to red and stays there.

Do you have any other suggestions or websites to walk me thru the problem?

Thanks,
Trvlngnrs

Whew! Your Mail is using more than twice the RAM you have! Try deleting the log file mentioned in this thread. Let us know if that helps.

30GB free on a 256GB drive is getting into "too full" territory that I would avoid. However, I'm not saying this is causing your Mail issue.

Forcing your Mac to quit can lead to even further issues such as file corruption. No way to be sure of what damage, if any, has occurred there. You may need to do a reinstall in the end.

Yeah! Thank you for the link - that did it. One of the .logs was 15.1gb. I deleted all of them and it started right up, with the RAM pressure staying in the green!

Thanks again!!
