Mail hangs and iCloud hangs.

- Latest Big Sur installed.

When i open mail (configured with my icloud mail account) : spinning beachball.
When i open System Prefs and click on Apple ID: spinning beachball.
When i open System Prefs and click on Internet accounts > iCloud : spinning beachball.

Anyone to the rescue plz ?

Did you get it working ?

there were quite a few apple services not working yesterday and have since been resolved - it may have been the cause?

Thx for your help !
Today i experienced the same issues as described in my OP, so i assume they have nothing to do with faulty apple services.
Besides, I have another drive with OSX 10.15.7 installed on it and on that system no such issues at all.
