Ok, so I stupidly put my full legal name for my icloud account and now, under mail pref, I can't just change it. Where it says "full name", it is greyed out and I can not change it.

I went to iCloud.com and changed it there and then to the apple ID pref page and changed it there. I also went to system pref, mail, and made the change there.

I have restarted my mail and computer and it is still showing my full legal name. I can't change it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I thought of that too. I deleted the mail and when I put it back in, the same. Totally sucks. Thanks though for the suggestion.

How is the name shown on your personal contact in the Contacts app? I wonder if it pulls the name from there?

That is not what it does on my machine. I have checked the contact card for myself and it has the correct name. Mail still has the wrong name.

I am using ML on a MBP-r.

Thanks,

-Doc

Hmm... so much for that theory then. I am out of ideas.
