Mail issue

Hi, I'll keep this simple (mostly for myself).
When I want to contact someone, let's use this forum as the example, my Mail will open up. That would be fine but I don't use Mail, I use like some gmail. So the contact info never pops up just the setup Mail box (walk through). So how can I avoid this or is there a way to set something up that prevents this from happening? I hope I'm explaining this right and any help would be great, thanks

There's an option to set the default for sending mail.
