Every time I send an email, as well a copy going correctly into the sent folder, another copy is deposited in the drafts folder. This happens from my iCloud and IMAP accounts.

Any idea for a fix or it is just a beta bug?

Thanks

Phil

I've seen that occasionally in El Capitan, so it's probably just a bug that is still in there.

happening here too (and also, never saw this in el capitan, or any previous version of the OS). def a bug (and reported)...

EDIT: interesting; if i am open on the drafts folder while writing a new email, and then send that, a dupe does NOT show up in the drafts folder; that seems to be consistent.

if another folder is open (ie inbox), i DO get a dupe in drafts, but, only sometimes. odd bug.....

ugh. this morning, 98% of my sent mail was missing from that folder...it was now in the drafts folder (of course, moved it back)...and filed a report...

I've occasionally encountered this issue with some IMAP accounts since OS X 10.10, but with Sierra it happened with every single message.

Enabling the option to store drafts to the server on all accounts seems to have fixed it.

"suddenly" my drafts mail keeps on filling even when i did sent the original one,

Store drafts on server is no longer under MAIL > PREFS > accounts...

i reported it (as i did in the previous beta). just annoying, to keep track of what was actually sent versus what might be just a draft...

i wonder if some of these server / imap / exchange issues are from iOS and problems connecting between betas or earlier versions?

My mail doesn't work at all under the latest Sierra beta. This includes the Apple and Airmail clients.

I have had this happen, but it only seems to happen when I am using a slow public access spot. It never happens at home, or when connected to my Sprint Hotspot.

I'm almost certain that there's another topic on this subject, with something from me, if I find it again I'll add a link …

Without wishing to rain on a parade: server-oriented issues such as these may be fiendishly difficult to 'fix' for broad ranges of users. Two users of the same e-mail service, both using Macs in one room, might find different results.

The likelihood of making this type of problem reproducible may be increased by:
  • frequently saving a draft with multiple large attachments and clicking Send before the e-mail client has completed the most recent save
– it may help to visualise things overlapping and finally competing.

First: reproducible, if you can (without too much difficulty).

Then: calm, careful attention to detail with whatever Apple may request for diagnosis purposes.

this is a problem i (personally) had with a POP account, and only on the sierra betas (never before, and... no longer, since PB5). very different from what you're describing... (fwiw)
