Is there a way to change that? I can't find how in Mail Preferences, and an online search didn't turn up an answer either. Is there a security problem if they have my name instead?

Although I just recently upgraded from Mojave to Monterey, this is not a new issue. I just never tried to see if I could change it.

It also says that messages I received were received by Apple Inc., and I know that's not a setting on the sender's computer. Is this normal, or can it be changed by a setting in Mail, or somewhere else?

This sounds very weird.
Where exactly does it say those were sent or received by Apple Inc.? Maybe you can post a screenshot?

@gwang73 Good thought. There were no signatures entered, so maybe that was why it said Apple. I'll try it now with my name in there and see if it changes. Thanks!

@Diskutant It says Apple at the top, where it should say my name as sender or recipient.

check Mail - Settings - Accounts
there should be a dropdown field "E-Mail-Address", click that, then choose edit and check if Full Name is set to your name, not Apple Inc.

Mail>Preferences>Accounts in the Account Information tab, E-Mail Address is set to My Name<user@myaddress>. It all looks good.

New signature shows up in the Message window. Seems to have replaced the old signature in messages sent before the change. So I suppose it's never said Apple Inc. in that location.

So it's when a message is a reply to me that it says Apple Inc. along with the other person's name in the message list pane on the left side. I'm sure there are other cases where this happens, just don't see one now.
