Mail -> Multiple Accounts Supported!

I've seen this question several places and I believe multiple email accounts will be supported. See the 20m guided tour for evidence:

(1) At about 13m 45s into the video, notice the button in the upper left hand corner labeled 'mailboxes'. This presumably lets you navigate up a level to see the list of mailboxes you have configured. The question is, does the default mail view show all of your mail, or just that from a default mailbox.
(2) At 23m 45s when the settings menu is being demonstrated. Notice the 'Add Accounts' option in the mail settings menu.​

It's interesting that Apple would choose to show us trivial sections such as the ringtones and wallpaper menus, but not something as critical as the 'Settings -> Mail -> Accounts' section. Perhaps this would reveal one of the rumored "secret features"... push Exchange support anyone?

Yea, I'll be surprised if there actually are any 'surprise features'.

Personally, I'm torn by the lack of Exchange support. On one hand I can't stand being dependent on proprietary protocols like Exchange when open standards such as IMAP and POP exist. On the other hand, the company I work for is heavily Exchange dependent, and if I'm able to get work email on my phone I can expense the data plan which would be great.

Does anyone know if there is an IMAP IDLE enabled implementation for Exchange server? If so I might start bugging IT.

There is. I have already put in a Help Desk Ticket for this with my IT department.

Since it syncs with Mail.app, I'd imagine that anything configured there will also be on the iPhone, including Exchange accounts via OWA (though I've yet to get mine functional in Mail!)

Great! Now is anybody familiar with IMAP and security? I have a feeling that if the Exchange IMAP implementation doesn't support any security extensions that I won't have much luck persuading IT.

we run IMAP and it is just as/no more secure than exchange. It supports SSL and you must enter a name/password. How is exchange so secure beyond that?

I am so glad that the iphone is shining the light of day on how bad exchange/microsoft really is.

Yes, you can definitely wrap IMAP in SSL on Exchange. It is quite secure.
