I just moved from macOS 10.15 to macOS 12 (Monterey).

Unlike before I see now in Mail all Inboxes twice - once in the "All Inboxes" folder and once in the respective email account section further down. The same is the case with Sent, Drafts, Trash, and Junk.

It seems to me that there is no truly "unified" mailbox function in Mail anymore.

Is it possible to have also in macOS 12 unified folders for Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Trash, and Junk which then are only visible once in the Favorites section of Mail?

Thanks - desertman

I got it confirmed from Apple: no unified mailboxes anymore. Very arrogant to abandon such a standard.
That's really annoying. They do stuff like this from time to time and each time they do I get another app that does what I want and don't return to using Apple software.
If it wasn't for OSX I'd be Windows all the way.

They must have misunderstood the question.....or else I have.

Move the cursor to Favorites in the sidebar
Click on the + sign that appears next to Favorites in the sidebar
Click on the dropdown arrows that then appear, to bring up this screen:

Good to know, thank you.
I was going to upgrade straight away but after hearing about problem connecting USB devices I decided to hold off, especially as I had a two week trip overseas coming up.
I'll have a look at 12.1 before deciding the time is right.

Unified mailboxes are still there, but you have to add them in Favourites. Click the + then the drop-down and you'll see the list.

What's changed is that the actual mailboxes are still listed under the folder list for that account. I don't like this; I don't need to see inbox, sent, trash, archive etc listed under favourites and again under each account.
