Mail not syncing IMAP read/unread data

Hi everyone,

I'm having problems getting my IMAP account to sync the read/unread data between all of my devices (2x yosemite, 2x iOS 8). Ive done some testing and it works on the boot of apple mail but not while its open. To clarify, if I read something on my laptop and go to my phone I don't see that it is marked as read. Or if I go from laptop to desktop same thing. Or phone to desktop. You get the idea.

Any help would be appreciated. Even if it's just "idk if this will work but try this:".

I have this but only on an exchange server, not with my mail.com, iCloud or other IMAP services. What mail service(s) are you getting it with?

Godaddy custom domain IMAP. I've contacted them and I don't think the problem is on their end.
