I need some assistance. I have an iPhone 15 and I’m trying to set-up an audible sound when I receive an email from Apple mail. I’ve done everything that I thought I needed to do but I can’t get it to work 😡

Can one of the experts chime in?

Thanks…iPhone 15, iOS 18.3.1

Well…in Settings>Sounds & Haptics you set the alert volume and choose Mail tones. In Settings>Apps>Mail>Notifications there's a setting for Sounds. In Settings>Apps>Mail>Notifications>Customize Notifications there are further such settings. On the side of my iPhone 13 there's a switch for Silent Mode.

There could be a setting under Settings>Accessibility I don't know of that might prevent the sounds from coming through.

I have experienced both an iPhone and iPad that stopped certain ringtones or alerts working and the only fix in either case was to wipe the device clean and start over from scratch…and NOT restore from a backup as the problem came back when restoring from the backup.

Thanks - all settings are as you described. Still doesn't work. 🤬

Probably a corrupt pref file and you'll have to wipe clean and restart from scratch.

However, you might want to wait as someone else here may have a different idea.

In the meantime, you can prep yourself for the worst with a load of screenshots of what you've got set up on there currently.
