Mail Problem iPad Mini

Hi. I am very new to this forum so bear with me.

I have been using the ore-installed Mail App on my iPad for a couple of years with no problem.

This morning it refuses to open. When I click on the Mail icon on the Home Page, the screen goes white blank then after a few seconds returns to the Home Page. I have tried a few tips found online. Closing down, switching WiFi off and on. Even a Reset. But still the problem persists.

All other Apps appear to operate as normal.

Any suggestions, please, in words of one syllable for an ageing non-techie!
