Hey,

Since 2.2 I'm having problem with Mail.

I have my account on my iPhone set to fetch every thirty minutes. When I wake up I usually hit my alarm off on my iPhone and then see if Mail's badge icon indicates any Mail (I usually receove two or three emails over night).

This morning, however, there was nothing there. I opened Mail and found that I had received two emails, marked as read (no unread buble next to them) but the badge icon did not display them.

I decided to test it by emailing myself from my webmail and seeing if Mail would fetch correctly. Same problem - the item was in my Inbox when I checked later on but Mail hadn't informed me and it was marked as read when it clearly hadn't been.

Any advice?

If this is non-rectifiable I may downgrade to 2.1 because this is a pretty big issue for me.

Thanks,

Adam

OK. After some testing it only appears to be happening with some emails.

Basic small text emails seem to come through fine but bigger emails with attachments, embedded images etc. just sit in my Inbox, marked as 'read' and the badge icon doesn't inform me they've come through.

Would a restore sort this out? I'm not too bothered about my texts so I could just fully restore my iPhone and then load all my music back on to it easily enough.

Is anyone else having a similar problem? (I'm on O2 in the UK btw.)

Out of interest, how easy is it to downgrade firmware?

Thanks,

Adam
