I upgraded from Catalina to Big Sur, and whenever I delete messages from the Trash "On My Mac" folder, Mail quits. Any suggestions would be great!

I don't get that problem, but I do get an issue where sometimes I don't get mail in my Inbox despite it buzzing on my watch, phone or iPad (which are all also on iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and watchOS 7). I have several Exchange accounts that worked fine under Catalina. They come through eventually, but despite several manual checks of mail they can sometimes take an hour or so. Only started happening when I installed the beta. Has anyone else had this? I've searched but can't see anything on here, though that doesn't mean it hasn't been mentioned and if so, I apologise. Obviously, I'm aware we're on Beta 1 and is working well across all my devices...not had a single springboard crash and this Mail issue is the only one I've discovered across the board. Well, that and the occasional late notification of an already read email or iMessage on my Mac.

Weirdly. I just tried to send myself a new email to test my iCloud and see if that is immune to this, and then the emails all came through. Not sure if it's a coincidence.

I just cannot open Mail 13.0 - I have Big Sur macOS 11.0 Beta (20A4299v) on my 16" MacBookPro.
Mail just crashes upon launch.
Just unable to use Mail !
Bug Report FB7783415 filed.
Anyone had this experience and found a work-around?

This is in the crash log:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '*** -[__NSFrozenArrayM objectAtIndexedSubscript:]: index 47 beyond bounds [0 .. 46]'
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException
abort() called

Is it an exchange account you use, or at least have a backup stored somewhere? You could try deleting the account in Settings > Internet Accounts and see if it lets you rebuild? Failing that, you could try opening it in Safe Mode (hold down Shift when clicking Mail) and see if that works?

I had the same problem and crash log message. From System Preferences >> Internet Accounts try turning off your email accounts by unchecking the Mail option. I found that by turning off my IMAP accounts I was able to get Apple Mail 13.0 to start with just my iCloud and Gmail accounts. I plan to reenable each IMAP account in turn, but I have not started that process yet.

I take it then that nobody else has the issue on Exchange (I deleted and re-added to no effect) where on iOS and iPadOS I get a push notification and email delivery as usual, but on BS Mac Mail it can be very hit and miss that they come through properly? It can sometimes be half an hour, and then all of a sudden (either timed with another new email, or just apparently spontaneously) mail will come through and in the Read form because I’ve read them elsewhere. I’m just waiting on beta 3 finishing the install where hopefully the issue will be gone, but I doubt it.
