Mail showing on iOS device, but not yet on Mac OS X device

Hello.

Sometimes I have the strange occurrence of mail showing up on my iPhone 5s with latest iOS version minutes or hours before showing up on my Mac, even when clicking the GET MAIL button in Mail.

And now I had something ****ed up like Mac OS X 10.11.5 notifying me of a new mail, I click on it, my phone beeps for getting the same mail and on the Mac I get switched to Mail and the mail I got notified for (? - though the notifications does not show up in the NC) is nowhere to be seen, but the mail is there on the iPhone?

Bug or just something to drive people towards DOS?

I don't have this problem. Perhaps we can help you if you give some information about the mail server you are using and how you are connecting to it.

It is a rented IMAP server from Strato (for this particular email), it works quite well, much better than Yahoo and others (which I also use). In the mean time the email arrived in the past ten hours on my MacBook too.

Any further information you need?

Hmmm. Only thing i can think of to try is to delete the mail account on your mac, then re-add it. Sometimes that has cleared up weirdness for me.
