Hi all,

I did a clean install of Yosemite on my Macbook Pro today. I found out that replying an email takes a very, very long time to send to the recipient.I am using my iCloud account here (not Gmail).

The messages was merely few lines long (all text) but it took around 3-4 minutes to send the message. The mail activity panel showed that the sending bar was simply not progressing as it used to on Mavericks. What could the problem be ?

I'm not entirely sure, but it looks like a Mail bug to me.

Use Mail menu item 'Window' and the launch "Connection Doctor". When that launches pfirst ask for the print out then do the server check again. This then printo out every step Mail takes to reach the server. This will help your trouble shooting.

I launched Connection Doctor and found that the iCloud IMAP connection and login to server succeeded.

But the Gmail SMTP wasn't able to connect successfully. The details were "trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct".

Could someone help me please ?
