Mail sound lag

Does anyone else have this?

I had a few mails arrive in the last 30 minutes or so, and so I instantly clicked it and read it. And then, after 20 seconds or so, I heard the mail sound. Yet I already read the mail "long" time ago.

The Mail sound comes too late. Am I the only one?

Same here. I just got an iCloud email that was about three lines of text (no images or anything). I saw the red 1 popup in the Dock then counted about 13 seconds before the Notification and sound triggered. Lame.

Same thing here. I see the badge, I switch to Mail (without rushing), I read the email, I delete the email, I switch back to Safari....AND then I hear the Mail sound and the notification comes up.

JUST STUPID.

Brand new Macbook Pro with latest OS.

The Restart command almost never works, I have to force the Macbook to shut down.

Yosemite is a mess.
