I've got my iPhone next to me, and my mail is coming thru on that way before the iPad. Anyone noticing this? Both are set to push on gmail and 15 minute fetch...

I don't believe that push currently works on the iPhone and iPad for gmail, only for yahoo, MobileMe, and exchange. Your iPhone is fetching before the iPad, it's probably a coincidence that it gets emails sooner. I have gmail on push and fetch on my MacBook pro and my iphone still gets emails sooner.

Gmail push came out late last year. It's not perfect but it's always worked well enough on the iPhone.

Click on Settings > Mail > Advanced. Does GMail say "Push" ?

I actually noticed earlier that I was getting my mobileme email on my iPad before my iPhone. Probably like a 15-20 second difference.

Oh sorry, I meant off of the Fetch New Data screen, there should be advanced. Maybe only if you have two accounts, but mine inside the Advanced tab says push.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Got it! My choices were only fetch or manual. I have 2 gmail accounts set up. It was set on fetch.

Sorry, but iPhone and iPad still cannot handle push gmail.

I have been using push with gmail on my iPhone for several months now and it does work on my iPhone and iPad. Setup the email acct as a MS Exchange account. If you google it you will find it
