Hello all,

I just got my iPhone 3G yesterday (AHHHH) and in the process of getting everything working, I figured out email sent to any of the 3 email accounts I have on my iPhone will not download automatically onto my phone. That is, I have to go into mail and ask it to check for new messages before it will know there are new messages on the server. I have searched far and wide for an option that says "Check every XX minutes for new mail," but to no avail.

Have other users experienced this problem? Anyone know how to rectify it?

This issue is really back and forth for me. Majority of the time I have to hit the update button to get it to DL my mail but every once in a while I hear that little "New Mail" too quiet alert tone.

Kind of off topic but not really, I've been having my Gmail forwarded to my Yahoo address since I got my phone back in February to take advantage of the push that everybody is having issues with. Now when I sync with my Mac, the gmail account is automatically added to my Mail app. Is Apple pushing the Gmail messages too or do I need to continue to rely on Yahoo?

Have you looked under settings->fetch new data?

Yeah, go to Settings, set the data retrieval or whatever to Fetch and then select your intervals.
