Using IOS 13.5.1 on iPad Pro. i have two email accounts. Why does mail always start on one particular email account, despite my leaving the app in the account I want the app to use the next time I start up the app?
What has happened to the magnifying glass when holding your finger on text, it is really frustrating as it has become very difficult to edit text? Happens on the iPhone as well.

I think the magnifying glass when moving the cursor is gone for a while.

Did the app refresh due to low RAM?

OP, What you described is a bug. Unless it shut down unexpectedly, it should open up to the mail folder that was previously opened, unless you were Using “all boxes.”

You can try rebooting your iPad Pro, opening the mail box you want to lead with, and then closing and opening mail again. If that doesn’t work, report the bug to Apple.

The default mail app has been messed up for a lot of people since iOS 12. That is why so many have looked to third party mail.
