Other Main differentiation between Xs and Xs MAX?

Still debating on the size of the Xs. I plan to get the either the standard or MAX size. However, it seems like this years sizes don't differentiate much. UI optimization isn't special on the MAX. The only difference that came across my research is the battery life and slightly higher resolution. Heck, even the PPI is the same for both phones. I've always preferred the larger phones since the inception of the 6 due to battery size.

Apart from the size. Can someone explain why you would go for the bigger size? I plan to upgrade from a 7+ after the Xr comes out. I've played around with both Xs and Xs MAX, but seems like the MAX size feels like a larger phone compared to 6, 7, 8 and their + size counterparts.
 
Everyone’s usage is different which will be the deciding factor for them. There are a select few who went with the XS Max because it was the newest thing Apple has done and they wanted to come off as “cool.” But I would say 99% of people here make the decision based on their usage. Do you stream a lot of video content on your phone or read a lot of e-books? If so, the XS Max might be the best option. Do you use your phone for the small things such as texting, emailing, social media, calls, etc.? If so then the XS or XR would be more than enough.

Personally, I stream video, read, text, call, social media, etc. on my XS and it does perfect...for me. Others eyes may be bad and need things larger.

The Max is a tad bit smaller then previous Plus sized phones. It just weighs a little more.
 
I stream on my xs as well. Xs max is big, but that is what some people want. For example, my dad is 70+ Of age, can’t see well and ordered the max.

Bigger screen (and bigger battery, although most reviews haven’t found the battery life of the Max much longer than the standard XS). It really just comes down to size preference. The XR comes with a few more compromises in exchange for its lower price.
 
Larger screen, larger battery, some apps have a landscape view that the XS doesn’t. It isn’t “that” large though. I’m coming from a regular 6 and didn’t think it felt too big at all. It is heavier than I expected but that’s only an issue when I put it into an old T-shirt pocket where it’ll sag a bit. That’s just an indictment of an old comfy shirt.

I pretty much do all of the above minus e-book. I felt like it was bigger due to the screen size taking up the former bezel space and top it off with the slight weight gain, even though its slightly smaller in size than any of the + size phones I own. I'll see what the Xr has to offer, but I'm sure the screen will sway me away, as well as the touch ID, to which I find handy in certain apps. Thanks for your input. The one thing that interests me is the long battery life on the Xr.
 
16x9 video on the X is 4.7 inches, so you lose a lot of video real estate. Also having a wider keyboard is more comfy to type on.
