I have my MBP and its very fast but I know that it doesnt boot up as fast as it did when I first bought it and it doesnt open applications as fast as it was when it was new. What can I do to maintain the speed and performance of my computer?

Its called a fresh install always works better. And stop loading your computer with useless crap that you use once a month, and leave the computer on so that it can defrag its self.
