While we're all speculating about the new iPod models coming out next month, I do have one major concern: what if Apple adopts the recessed headphone connector like that used on the iPhone?

Gawd, would that **** off iPod users to no end. I don't want end up paying extra just to get an adapter so I can use my current 3.5 mm jack headphones with the new iPod or wait for updated headphones. I just hope that the new iPods use standard flush-fit 3.5 mm headphone connector for obvious reasons!

But the iPod accessory manufacturing community would love it.

They may love it, but I won't--what happens if I lose the adapter plug? :( Apple might go with the recessed headphone connector because 1) it looks "cool" and 2) it may prevent the headphone from getting unplugged from the iPod if the player gets jostled.
